Swim lessons

We focus on safety first, using a swim-float-swim method.

Building on solid foundations and simple steps, children:

  • Progress through our levels
  • Become competent swimmers
  • Learn to love the water

Levels

Lil Fins

  • Ages 1 to 3
  • No prerequisite

We introduce infants and toddlers to the joys of water while prioritizing safety and strengthening your parent-child bond.

As a parents, you are in the water with them to help you become just as comfortable as your child with being in the water.

After Lil Fins, they are ready for Level 1.

Level 1: water exploration

  • Ages 3 & up
  • Prerequisite: None

Students begin to feel comfortable in the water, while learning breath control, front and back floating, and independent movement.

Class taught in shallow and deeper water.

Exit skills: Independent front floats, and independent swimming on front (5 yards).

Level 2: primary skills

  • Ages 4 & up
  • Prerequisite: Level 1

Students learn to independently demonstrate floating, kicking, submerging, treading water, and basic stroke skills.

Class taught in shallow and deeper water.

Exit skills: Independent swimming on front and back (15 yards), and comfortable in deep water.

Level 3: stroke readiness

  • Ages 4 & up
  • Prerequisite: Level 2

Swimmers focus on stroke development and increased endurance. Fundamentals of diving will be introduced.

Class taught in deep water.

Exit skills: Swim 25 yards in deep water.

Level 3 & 4: combination class

  • Ages 4 & up
  • Prerequisite: Level 3

Swimmers focus on stoke development, diving, and increased endurance.

Exit skills: Upon instructor recommendation, swimmers may move on to Swim Team.

Level 4: stroke development

  • Ages 5 & up
  • Prerequisite: Level 3 exist skills

Swimmers continue to work on stroke and diving refinement, and endurance building.

Exit skills: Upon instructor recommendation, swimmers may move on to Swim Team.

Private or semi-private lessons

  • Private: $26 for 30 minutes
  • Semi-private: $18 per child for 30 minutes (max 3 children)

Scholarships

We believe all residents should have access to recreation opportunities regardless of ability to pay. Youth scholarship funds are available, thanks to the generosity of our local community and the Slacker Half Marathon.
