CCMRD has multiple scholarship programs available funded by its charitable partner, Slacker Half Marathon and the Slackers Committee. CCMRD believes that residents should have access to recreation services regardless of ability to pay.

CCMRD’s Scholarship programs provide financial assistance to residents for access to youth programs. Scholarship Requests must be submitted no later than 2 weeks before the program or event starts.

Tae Kwon do

This is a Korean Martial Art. You will be taught the tenets of Tae Kwon Do which include: courtesy, integrity, perseverance, self-control and indomitable spirit. Tae Kwon Do emphasizes increased coordination, mental awareness, confidence, balance and overall fitness.

Lacrosse is a traditional Native American game, often referred to as the ‘Fastest Game on Two Feet’. Rapidly growing in popularity, with many similarities to soccer and basketball, lacrosse is a fast-paced field game with ten players per side. This is a new program that will teach strategy and fundamentals while also improving skills for individuals who have prior experience.

Open to boys and girls ages 7-12.
Dates: Late April through early June, two days per week.

Youth Basketball League

The CCMRD Youth Basketball League is a fun, recreational league stressing teamwork and sportsmanship while teaching the fundamentals of the game. League is open to boys and girls grades 3-6 and teams will be split by school and grade. Teams practice once a week (beginning the week of January 16) and will play once a week beginning on February 1. Parent coaches and score keepers needed!
Ages: Grades 3-6
Days: Practices vary depending on school, games on Thursday afternoons
Dates: January 15 – March 22
Where: Practices are held at child’s school, games rotate between the three Clear Creek elementary schools
Fee: $65 includes reversible jersey

Just because leaves are falling doesn’t mean it is time to put away the skateboard! Join Clear Creek Rec as we hit up Woodward at Copper!

Participants must be comfortable skateboarding on their own. Pointers and tips will be given, but this is not an instructional class. Participants must bring their own equipment (skateboard, pads, helmet) as well as sack lunch and snacks for the day. Helmet is required for participation. Minimum/Maximum numbers on all trips. Please sign up in advance. Keep an eye open for Woodward trips to be scheduled over the winter break as well!

This American Red Cross course is designed for 11-15 year olds and helps prepare them for those first babysitting opportunities. Instruction includes parent and sitter responsibilities; how to perform routine care such as feeding, bathing, and diapering; major elements of home and sitter safety; basic infant/child growth and development along with appropriate activities; fire hazards and escape; and how to provide minor injury treatment or handle an emergency. Includes certificate.
