Belly Dance is for all shapes and sizes, and has many physical benefits such as coordination, isolation, improved posture, as well as strengthening and toning of the core, arms, back, legs, and hips. There are also many mental and emotional benefits including promotion of self-confidence, creativity, and community. Making it a wonderful activity for overall health of the woman's body. Volleyball League

League will be 8 to 10 weeks depending on the number of registered teams and will be played at the Rec Center gym in Idaho Springs. League champions will receive a championship T-shirt. Are you an Ordinary Joe or a Viper? Adult Dodgeball is back! League will start in March and play once a week for 8-10 weeks depending on number of teams. Games will be played at the Rec Center gym in Idaho Springs. Ideally teams will have 8 to 12 players with 8 players participating at a time. Feel free to solicit sponsorship from local businesses or design your own team jersey. More information to follow.

Hike with a Shelter Dog

Clear Creek Recreation and Charlie’s Place Animal Shelter are teaming up to offer Hike with a Shelter Dog.

Hikes will leave from Charlie’s Place Animal Shelter, 500 W. Dumont Rd, Dumont at 10:00am. Cost is free and please sign up in advance at the Clear Creek Recreation Center (303-567-4822) or online at

Hiking Club

Hikes typically last 2-3 hours and transportation is provided. Transportation is $10 per person for each hike. All other expenses such as food, water, and equipment are your responsibility. Our hiking group will depart at 10am from the Rec Center and typically travel between 10 and 45 minutes to our locations. For our Butler Gulch snowshoe, participants are required to bring their own snowshoes or rent them from CCMRD ($5 per pair/reserve in advance). Weight & Cardio Guidelines

Children 8 and under are not allowed on weight or cardio machines.

Children 9 – 13 must be under the direct supervision (within arm’s length) by someone 18 or older to use weight and cardio machines.

Children 14-16 may use weight and cardio equipment alone after completing a weight-room orientation program with a CCMRD staff member.


Do you need to know how to use the weight room equipment?

A Personal Trainer will give an overview of equipment and familiarize you with our weight room!

Youth 14 to 16 must complete an orientation before they can use the equipment without a parent.
